Mikrodermoabrasion

WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION?

Microdermabrasion is a type of mechanical exfoliating scrub and is a non-invasive method of removing the surface layer of the epidermis (stratum corneum) with diamond extensions. It is a basic procedure to improve the texture of the skin. It is an ideal skin preparation for other treatments.

WHEN TO HAVE MICRODERMOABRASION TREATMENT AND HOW OFTEN?

Microdermabrasion can be applied to all skin types. It is used to minimise large pores, correct fine lines, treat slight hyperpigmentation and superficial scars. Depending on the indications, type and condition of the skin, the following is determined: the degree of microdermabrasion, the size of the diamond probe, the speed and the number transits over the treated surface of the skin. It can be applied on the face, neck and décolletage, as well as on the body (rough elbows, knees, back, as well as the preparation for the needle-free mesotherapy on the body). Microdermabrasion can be performed every seven days. If microdermabrasion is used as a preparatory treatment before needle-free mesotherapy, the treatment is repeated every two weeks. And when microdermabrasion is the only treatment applied, the interval between treatments may be seven days and a series of six treatments is recommended.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MICRODERMOABRASION?

The treatment is non-invasive and completely painless, with no recovery period. Microdermabrasion restores skin glow and radiance. It gives excellent results as a preparatory method before needle-free mesotherapy because it allows deeper penetration of the products. It can also be a preparatory treatment for other aesthetic procedures. The results of microdermabrasion are immediately visible and clients can immediately return to their daily activities.

MICRODERMABRASION TREATMENT PRECAUTIONS

Microdermabrasion is not the method suitable for acneous skin and skin with intense rosacea, as well as for skin with fungal and bacterial infections. It is also not used in persons undergoing Roaccutane therapy, have diabetes or autoimmune diseases, as well as in acute herpes and the presence of warts on the skin.

FOLLOW-UP CARE AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Microdermabrasion increases the sensitivity of the skin to the sun’s rays, and therefore sunbathing is to be avoided for at least 24 hours after the treatment. Also, after the treatment, the skin may be sensitive to hot water and sweat, so one should refrain from intense training.
